Voice of Wits to jolt youth entrepreneurship

The launch, which coincides with Youth Month, will provide aspiring young entrepreneurs a platform to engage with leading business people and acquire pivotal business knowledge and insights that will aid their development.
The Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit takes place online as follows:

Author and serial entrepreneur, Sibusile Leope, popularly known as DJ Sbu, will deliver the keynote address. The inaugural Young Entrepreneurship Summit convenes entrepreneurs and experts who will share their insights and experience in innovation and entrepreneurship to help aspiring youth entrepreneurs build high-growth startups in a panel discussion titled, Igniting the spark for youth entrepreneurship. Panellists include:
- Lebo Phasha, Business mentor and General Manager for Southern Africa at the African Management Institute
- Liz Letsoalo, Entrepreneur and founder of Masodi Organics
- Neil Welman, Co-founder of alternative small business lender Lulalend
Mudiwa Gavaza, financial journalist and host of Business Buzz on VOW FM every Thursday evening, will facilitate the summit.
The Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit targets people between the ages of 20 and 35 residing in Johannesburg, who through their ventures can help tackle unemployment in South Africa. The youth unemployment rates in South Africa is staggering. The summit seeks to reduce unemployment in the country by providing tools, information and knowledge, which can be utilised to create job opportunities.
Leading entrepreneurs will share tips on building successful businesses. The Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit will include a competition, where young business owners will pitch their ideas to attendees. The best pitches will be awarded a R20 000 advertising package by VOWFM.
