Orlando Pirates have confirmed that Thembinkosi Lorch has departed from the club and is set to join reigning DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The Sea-Robbers released a statement confirming Lorch’s departure.
“Thembinkosi Lorch is to leave Orlando Pirates Football Club after a discussion between the Chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, and the Mamelodi Sundowns hierarchy.
The Club thanks “Nyoso” for his immense contribution by adding another page in the history of the Club.
“We wish him and his family well in his future sporting pursuit,” the club said.
Lorch made 176 appearances for The Buccaneers, scoring 34 goals and assisting on 30 occasions.
He has been spotted at Sundowns’ training base in Pretoria and it is believed that he has signed on the dotted line with the Tshwane based soccer team.
The Premier Soccer League January transfer window came to a close at midnight and Mamelodi Sundowns set to confirm Lorch’s move to the club having already acquired the signatures of Zuko Mdunyelwa from Chippa United, Matias Esquivel from Club Athletico Lanus and Tashreeq Matthews from Borussia Dortmund.
