MI BEAT DC TO SECURE THEIR INITIAL VICTORY OF THE IPL 2024 CAMPAIGN. LSG DEFEATED GT ON SUNDAY.

Lucknow Super Giants beat Gujarat Titans by a margin of 33 runs, propelling them to third place in the IPL 2024 standings after earning six points in four games. GT holds the seventh position in the rankings, having accumulated four points from five matches. In Sunday’s other match, Mumbai Indians secured their initial victory of the season by beating Delhi Capitals with a 29-run margin.

Following the victory, MI moved up to the eighth spot on the IPL 2024 leader board, having earned two points from four matches. The Delhi Capitals are currently occupying the last position in the 10-team standings with only two points earned from five matches. Rajasthan Royals are leading the standings with a perfect record of eight points from four matches. Kolkata Knight Riders are in second place, followed by LSG in third and Chennai Super Kings in fourth.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are ranked fifth in the IPL 2024 standings, with Punjab Kings right behind them in sixth place. In the standings, GT holds the seventh spot, Mumbai Indians are in eighth place, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently ninth. DC is at the bottom of the standings after earning just two points in five matches.

Despite an impressive unbeaten innings of 71 runs from Tristan Stubbs, DC fell short in their chase of 235 runs, finishing with a total of 205/8 in 20 overs. At the same time, Prithvi Shaw (66) also reached a milestone of scoring fifty runs. MI’s Gerald Coetzee claimed four wickets. In the beginning, MI scored 234/5 in 20 overs, with Rohit Sharma leading the way for the visitors by scoring 49 runs off 27 balls. Axar Patel and Anrich Nortje managed to secure two wickets each for DC’s bowling department.

 

Titans suffer another defeat

 In the second game, GT scored 130 runs in 18.5 overs while chasing a target of 164 runs in their innings. Sai Sudharsan led Gujarat’s batting with a score of 31 runs from 23 deliveries. In the meantime, Lucknow’s Yash Thakur claimed five wickets. At first, Marcus Stoinis scored 58 runs for LSG, helping them reach a total of 163/5 in 20 overs. In the meantime, Darshan Nalkande and Umesh Yadav secured two wickets apiece.
