VOW 88.1 WINS BIG AT PRESTIGIOUS TELKOM RADIO AWARDS 2024

Campus Radio Station VOW 88.1 has once again solidified its position as a powerhouse in the radio broadcasting industry, taking home an impressive five awards at the 2024 Telkom Radio awards on Saturday evening.
Located in the vibrant heart of Braamfontein, VOW 88.1 relies on the generosity of fundraisers, donations, collaborations and the dedication of its volunteers to stay on-air. This outstanding recognition is a testament to the unwavering passion and creativity of the team, which tirelessly strives to deliver exceptional content to the station’s listener.
Thabo “DJ Tee” Mosima, a seasoned on-air personality and producer, won the award for his popular Saturday music show, the VOW FM Top 30. He took to Instagram to celebrate his win captioning it “I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE”.

This was Mosima’s third nomination and he made sure to bring it home this time around.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Genesis also claimed an award for the Afternoon Drive Presenter, recognising his amazing work on the station’s drive time show.
Additionally, VOW FM‘s Breakfast team won the coveted award. The station’s current affairs show, Breaking Ground also received a night time show award – further solidifying the station’s excellence in talk radio.
The station made a groundbreaking achievement by winning the Campus Station of the Year award for the first time in 14 years. This win sparked an emotional yet immensely proud reaction from the entire team.
“It is the first time the station has ever won this, and I think I gave myself three years to win this… I am in my third year now,” said an emotional, teary programming manager, Junior Malinga.
