Linafoot outfit have confirmed that they have secured the services of Mahlatse Skudu Makudubela. The Black Dolphins announced Skudu’s signing last week Friday following his departure from Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
The former Marumo Gallants and Orlando Pirates winger joined Timu Ya Wananchi for the 2023/24 season and lifted the NBC premier league title, the FA Cup and also reached the CAF Champions League quarterfinals, where they were defeated by Mamelodi Sundowns, under the leadership of Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi.
Makudubela made history as he became the first South African player to compete in Tanzania’s vibrant football league. He is set to make more history as he is set to further his legacy by joining the prestigious ranks of the DRC league. He will be hoping to secure another league title in a different country.
After 12 matches played, Vita Club currently find themselves at the summit of Group B of the Linafoot standings, having registered six victories, drew four games and suffered two defeats.
The Black Dolphins supporters are full of excitement with the acquisition of Skudu, where they’ve also given him the nickname “Bebe Rico”. They will have to wait for a while to see him play his official match as the league is currently on a recess to allow the African Nations Championship {CHAN} tournament, which has since moved to August.
