Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns with Cape Town City in their betWay premiership match at the FNB stadium on Wednesday evening. Both side have been inconsistent in their performances of late in the league which sees Amakhosi lie eighth on the premiership table while the Citizens lie tenth.
The Citizens will go into this encounter full of confidence as they claimed the 3 points in the first round of the league back in Cape Town when they hosted the Naturena based side and will look to complete a league double against the Soweto giants.
Meanwhile, Chiefs will look to go in to claim a victory as they look to finish in a respectable position on the premiership table. The Soweto giants roped in Thabo Cele, Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo during the January transfer window in a quest to turn the club’s fortunes under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
While the trio have somewhat improved the quality of the Chiefs squad, the team has struggled to produce dominant performances on a regular basis. They have also suffered a blow of late with the injury list including players such as Happy Mashiane, Tashreeq Morris, Rushwin Dortley, Samkelo Zwane and Glody Lilepo.
Nabi has highlighted that they boosted with a return of some players from their respective injuries such as Wandile Duba, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Edson Castillo, all of which are back in contention for the clash against City. Chiefs will be aiming to achieve back-to-back league victories after their recent win against Magesi FC.
