THE ENGEN CHAMP OF CHAMPS: CROWNING THE ULTIMATE CHAMPION

The 23 years of football development and excellence continues as all roads lead to the Tuks High Performance Centre to experience the Engen Champ of Champs. The draw for this prestigious youth football event took place at the Tuks Athletic Clubhouse on Tuesday morning, to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion.

The journey started with the Engen Knockout Challenge, with the tournament taking place in all the province to unearth new talent and new teams to see who will be crowned champion. The provincial winners will then qualify for the Engen Champ of Champs to see who will then be crowned the ultimate champion.

The draw for both the girls and boys is as follows:

GIRLS U20 DRAW

GROUP A: Royal Wizards FC, Durban Ladies, Sisters FC, East High Girls Academy, Ixias Ladies FC.

GROUP B: City Lads FC, University of Johannesburg, Cape Town Roses FC, Mafikeng Ladies FC.

BOYS U18 DRAW

GROUP A: East High Boys Academy, Panorama FC, Junior Birds FC, Postmasburg FC, Bakgakga United

GROUP B: Cape Town City FC, Potch Academy, Kusekhaya Football Academy, Chippa United FC.

The Engen Champ of Champs will have new winners as Kaizer Chiefs for the boys and Mamelodi Sundowns for the girls did not qualify to defend their titles, as they crashed out in the Engen Knockout Challenge.

The winning teams from both the girls and boys will pocket a prize money of R30 000. All players are urged to give their best performance during the tournament to embody the theme “#ItsYourMomentForGlory” as individual awards will also be awarded.

The tournament will get underway on Friday, with the kickoff for the first round of fixtures set for 08:00. Matches will played will throughout the day until Sunday, where the ultimate champions will be crowned.
