LICENSING STATION LAUNCHED IN DIEPSLOOT

Since 2016, the City of Johannesburg Licensing Department has been working on establishing the Satellite Centre, bringing essential services to Diepsloot residents without needing to travel far.
The launch took place during Transport Month, which is about showcasing service delivery, while highlighting transport-related challenges that communities are faced with.
Public Safety MMC Dr Mgcini Tshwaku, officially opened the Diepsloot Satellite Licensing Centre, saying the opening showcases the city’s dedication to providing services that enhance people’s lives, empower them, and enables them to contribute positively to society.
Diepsloot residents will save money and time by traveling less to obtain licensing services, particularly during challenging economic times.
“We thank the administrators for their vision and the hard work they have put into bringing these services to the township of Diepsloot. We will continue to provide support to ensure that we provide a broader spectrum of services to our people in a safe and convenient manner.”
Tshwaku said the Diepsloot community faces numerous challenges with regard to crime, service delivery, and the city’s Public Safety Department will make every effort to combat these issues and provide services to the residents of this community.
The Diepsloot Satellite Licensing Centre offers the following services:
Application for Vehicle Permits
Renewal of Drivers’ License’s
Application of Professional Driving Permits
Application and issue of Learners’ License’s
Application of and issue of Roadworthy Certificates
The trading hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 07h30 – 15h00 and closed on public holidays.
The Diepsloot community expressed its sincere gratitude for the long-awaited center and demanded that the department hire local youth in order to further the neighborhood’s development.
