NIKOLA JOKIC IS NAMED NBA MVP FOR THE THIRD TIME

Serbian player of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has been named the NBA’s Kia Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2023-24 season. The Nuggets centre has won the MVP award for the third time, in four seasons. Jokic has previously been awarded the MVP title in the 2020-21 season and 2021-22 season.

Jokic is also the 9th player to have 3 or more Kia MVP awards, joining an elite set of players, such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (six), Michael Jordan and Bill Russell (five), Wilt Chamberlin and Lebron James (four), Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Moses Malone(three).

The NBA champion, who is currently defending the championship with the Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs, finished the second in the league, with 68 double-doubles and 25 triple doubles.

Nikola Jokic was voted as the Kia MVP for the 2023-24 season on 926 points, ahead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who came in second place on 640 points, and Luka Doncic, who came in third place of 566 points.
