DStv Premiership outfit Cape Town City have announced the signing of Haashim Domingo on a three year deal following his departure from Botola Pro League champions Raja Casablanca. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder endured a tough spell with the Green Eagles where he only managed to make 10 league appearances under former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer with his last appearance for the team was back in April.

The talented 28 year old midfielder enjoyed great success in his last spell on South African soil having spent three years with reigning DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns where he won three premiership titles, the MTN8 as well as the Nedbank Cup.

The Cape Town born took to the club’s social media pages to deliver a message to everyone associated with the club.

“The biggest factor would be definitely the playing style, the identity of the club and also to be back in the Mother City,” said Domingo.

“What I would like to achieve is definitely to help the club and the team be successful. From a personal perspective, goals and assists but for me it’s all about the team. The type of player I am is definitely a technical player, that’s my strong point. I’m not a physical type but definitely technical,” he added.

“The foundation I would say, would be my faith, my family, just having a proper mind-set, just to keep going. I think it’s a lot driven by faith, having the correct faith that’s what keeps me going most of the time,” he further added.

Domingo concluded with a message of hope to all the Cape Town City supporters, pleading with them to come in their numbers in the upcoming season.

“I’m extremely excited to play in front of the Citizens and hopefully they can come out in numbers to support us,” he concluded.

The former Raja Casablanca player becomes City’s second signing after they captured the signing of Namibian international Prins Tjiueza, looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.
