Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns with Stellenbosch FC in their betWay premiership match at the FNB stadium on Wednesday. Amakhosi go into this encounter at the back of a defeat against Cape Town City this past Sunday while The Stellies are high in confidence following their 2-0 over CD Lunda Sul in the CAF Confederations Cup but the glamour boys will look for nothing but a victory which will elevate them to fourth position on the premiership table.

The Naturena based side is celebrating it’s 55th birthday and the players are looking to put smiles on their supporters’ faces by getting a victory on Wednesday evening. After 13 matches in all competitions, The Glamour Boys have registered five victories, three draws, and suffered five defeats.

Chiefs’ goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma spoke before the media on Tuesday morning, saying that he is pleased to have returned to the starting XI.

“We are definitely making progress under coach [Nasreddine] Nabi in terms of how we are playing. You can see that we have improved a lot than the previous seasons,” said Bvuma.

“We are playing well, and as a team, we are doing well. It’s just that the results are not coming our way. We are getting inconsistent in terms of getting the results. But that doesn’t mean that there is no progress; I believe there is a lot of progress. We just have to get the results going forward.”

Last season, Bvuma had the most clean sheets at Chiefs with nine, while Brandon Petersen had four in all competitions. It remains to be seen how the competition for the number jersey between Bvuma, Petersen and Ntwari will continue, who will eventually be the coach’s preferred number one.

Kickoff is at 19:30.
