BAFANA BAFANA’S 2025 AFCON FATE HAS BEEN DECIDED

Bafana Bafana have learnt their TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco following the continental tournament draw having been conducted in Rabat on Monday evening.
The AFCON bronze medalists, placed in pot 2 according to FIFA rankings in December, have been drawn in group B alongside seven-time AFCON champions Egypt and fellow COSAFA region counterparts in Zimbabwe and Angola.
Hugo Broos’ charges qualified for the continental showpiece undefeated in group K of the qualifiers, after registering four victories and two draws alongside hosts Morocco and Uganda.
The 24 qualified teams were divided into six groups of four. The top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout stage.
Bafana are amongst seven nations from the COSAFA region, who have qualified for the tournament. The other nations include Botswana, Comoros Islands, Zambia, Mozambique and fellow group B AFCON counterparts in Angola and Zimbabwe.
The tournament will be placed across six cities and nine stadiums for Africa’s flagship football tournament namely Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Fes and Tangier. The tournament will get underway from the 21st of December 2025 until the 18th of January 2026.
