JOBURG SUPER KINGS DIMS THE LIGHT ON SUNRISERS EASTERN CAPE

The Joburg Super Kings returned to winning when they defeated the Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 9 wickets with 36 balls left to spare in their betWay SA20 League match at the Wanderers stadium on Sunday.

The defending champions won the toss and elected to bat first. The Sunrisers went on the crease and were all bowled out on 118 runs after 19 overs. David Bedingham carried the Sunrisers as he scored 48 runs from 40 deliveries, having scored 7 fours in the process before being taken out by Imran Tahir.

In reply, the Super Kings were on to the crease and reached target of 119 runs with a loss of 1 wicket to seal the victory. South African born New Zealander Devon Conway was the star of the show when it comes with the bat as he scored 76 runs from 56 deliveries, scoring 11s fours and 3 sixes to guide the Super Kings to win their third match of the league.

Lutho Sipamla was named player of the match for taking 3/13 (3) wickets. The victory also sees the Super Kings maintain fourth spot on the log with a chance of making it to the semifinals. They will now face the Pretoria Capitals.
