Orlando Pirates defeated TS Galaxy 2-0 and claimed their 5th win in the betway premiership at Orlando stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Buccaneers move up to 3rd place with 15 points accumulated from seven league outings and six points adrift top spot with three games in hand over log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Soweto giants broke the deadlock through striker Evidence Makgopa from the penalty spot in the 20th minute. With the game set to conclude, second half substitute Tshegofatso Mabasa put the game to bed with a close ranger header in stoppage time.
For Galaxy, the result saw their five-game unbeaten run in the league come to an end as they had last lost a match in August. Adnan Beganovic’s side dropped to seventh place on the log standings, having amassed 13 points in eight league matches.
